I was born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina and joined the U.S. Marine Corps in September 1971. I spent 23 years in the Marine Corps. My last tour of duty was Hawaii. I retired from the Marine Corps in 1994 and stayed in Hawaii. After retirement I worked for Schofield Federal Credit Union for 3 years, and in June 1997 I started my Civil Service Career with the Federal Government. I begin working with the Marine Corps, then Navy, next Army, and now I work for the U.S. Coast Guard in Honolulu, Hawaii. I’ve been with the Coast Guard for over twelve years, as an Information Technology Specialist.
I want to personally thank my close friend John R. Cole for all the research and hard work he put into my genealogy and for publishing the book “The Genealogy of Ervin Billy Lawson“ and providing it to me. I’m posting it here on my site for your reading pleasure>>>click to view.
